Special Meeting/Workshop

3. 5-Year Capital Plan Workshop
   Minutes: Joe Sanches, Chief Facilities Officer, provided Board Members with a summary of the proposed amendments to the FY 2006 - FY 2010 Five-Year Capital Plan including changes in the budgets for the following schools: Palm Beach Gardens High, Rolling Green Elementary, Barton Elementary, D.D. Eisenhower Elementary, Elementary 03-X; as well as changes to modular funding.
   
   Mr. Sanches entertained questions from Board Members regarding: PPM Codes (Robinson); adjustments to Berkshire Elementary's budget (Burdick); and John I. Leonard High School project change (Burdick).
   
   Mr. Sanches reviewed potential adjustments to this years plan including: Westward Elementary; Okeeheelee Middle; Palm Beach Lakes High Academy; and West Tech.
   
   Mr. Sanches entertained questions from Board Members regarding: construction academy (Burdick); career academies at West Tech (Burdick); using the facilities at Palm Beach Community College (Richmond); and alternative education program in the western community (Burdick).
   
   Dr. Johnson committed to Board Members that he will have a recommendation for the alternative program in the western communities by May 31st.
   
   Mr. Sanches reviewed CSR Strategies; Funding Shifts Adjustments and Scope Changes; Boca Raton High; and Royal Palm School.
   
   Mrs. Burdick questioned using COPS to purchase relocatables.
   
   Art Whitman, Demographer, summarized the Palm Beach County School Enrollment Forecast.
   
   Mr. Sanches reviewed the Construction Cost Percent Increase for 2004-2005.
   
   Mr. Moore stressed the importance to continue to land bank school sites.
